New line of Yamaha snowmobiles arrives in Russia

A presentation and test drive of Yamaha snowmobiles of the 2009 model line took place in the Berkut country club in Surgut (Russia) on March 26-31, 2008.

Around 250 people, i.e. mainly representatives of top Russian mass media and Yamaha Motor CIS, as well as Yamaha’s clients, attended the event.

Three snowmobile trails were prepared for the guests – tourist, sport and circular ones.

Everyone could enjoy winter forest landscapes and try new RS Venture GT and RS Venture TF 2009 on the tourist trail, race through a sport trail on FX Nytro X-TX и FX Nytro R-TX SE, and ride old good Bravo (BR250T) on the circular trail.

It is worth mentioning that Yamaha reported its sales upsurge in 2007, though, its net profit went down amid higher expenditures. The company’s revenue added 11%, compared to 2006, and reached 1.76 trillion yens (approx. $16.49bn). The operating profit rose by 2.8% to 127bn yens (approx. $1.19bn). The net profit dropped by 7.8% to 71.2bn yens ($667m). Yamaha’s motor equipment sales (snowmobiles, wave runners, side-by-sides) went up 6.1% to 265.6bn yens (approx. $2.49bn). According to forecasts, Yamaha Motor’s revenue will increase by 3.98% to 1.83 trillion yens ($17.14bn) in 2008. Yamaha Motor Corp. is one of the world’s top motor equipment manufacturers. Its product line includes snowmobiles, motorcycles, scooters, wave runners, boats, ATVs, side-by-sides, power equipment, engines etc.
