Russian Road-Racing Championship finishes with its final race in Moscow

The final races of the Russian Road-Racing Championship took place at the Moscow circuit (the Myachkovo airfield) on August 30, 2008.

Though it’s been drizzling all day, the weather was not that important. The 4th and final round of the championship included four races in the following classes: Superbike (motorcycles with engines of 750-1000cc), Supersport (motorcycles of 400-750cc), Supersport 400 (motorcycles of 125-400cc), Superstock 1000, Superstock 600 and Superstock Women (for women).

There was also a stint riding show. The winners of the contest among paddock-girls (Paddock-Girls Cup ) received their awards. The first place winner was chosen by a public voting and was awarded with a trip to Valencia to watch the final MotoGP tournament. The award was provided by UK-based Pole Position Travel, the official partner of MotoGP. In addition, special prizes (high-quality Repsol lubricants) were presented to all finalists of the Russian Road-Racing Championship.

This year, the championship was held under a different brand – Sportbike Russian 2008. It was also based on a new concept and organized in the form of a festival. Each stage included free riding, such as stunt riding and mototrial, as well as test drives of the latest motorbikes, music, Paddock-Girls Cup, motorbike lottery etc.
