Vladimir Leonov: I can't wait to see new bikeDebut MotoGP season is over for Vladimir Leonov, a Viessmann Kiefer Racing pilot and the only Russian in MotoGP 250cc.
Motonews.ru, the MotoGP in Valencia (Spain) was not only the last tournament for the season, but also the last 250cc class race in history – a race that was held every single year for 60 years. From now on, however, the 250cc class will be replaced by the 600cc Moto2 class.
Speaking about this MotoGP season, Leonov said: “This has been a difficult season, but we made it. I learned a lot. The experience that I’ve gained will definitely help me in the Moto2 seasons to come. I can’t wait to see my new bike and try it out! But for now, I would like to thank the team itself and the sponsors. And, of course, many thanks to my fans who have been following me or watching me on TV. See you all next season!”
Vladimir Leonov scored 17th in Valencia, and he is ranked 24th based on the MotoGP-2009 results. Vladimir’s best result was in Le Mans (France), where he came in 10th even despite poor weather conditions. This is more than impressive for a newcomer to MotoGP!
The first tests of the new Moto2 bike are scheduled to take place in Valencia in early December.
