Russia to host 2012 WSBK round

One of Russia's best road and circuit motorcycle racing teams, Yakhnich Motorsport, held a press conference in Moscow.

The press conference focused on two main issues: the presentation of the Cup of Two Countries, which has already been covered by Motonews.ru, and the details of the upcoming Russian Superbike World Championship round.

Held in the conference hall of VGTRK (the All-Russia State Television and Broadcasting Company), the press conference gathered together key figures in both Russian and global motosports. Among those present were WSBK Director Paolo Ciabatti, general promoter of the world series Paolo Flammini, President and owner of the Yakhnich Motorsport team Alexander Yakhnich, and President of the Russian Motorcycling Federation Alexander Lunkin.

The organizers reported on preparations for the Cup of the Two Countries, presented the prize cup that is up for grabs in the Italian-Russian championship, and announced that Russia would be holding an WSBK round in 2012. Kazan will be the host city, and its Canyon track is already in place for the event.
