Vladimir Leonov chooses Tissot

Vladimir Leonov, Russian professional motorcycle racer and Yakhnich Motorsport rider in the World Superbike Championship, has become a brand ambassador for Tissot on a team that already comprises renowned athletes from various sports.

This move is further proof of Tissot’s devotion to this high-speed technical sport that requires such calibrated precision.

As the Official Timekeeper of the World Superbike Championship, Tissot greatly appreciates the dedication and achievements of its new brand ambassador, and hopes for mutually rewarding cooperation in the future. The World Superbike Championship is one of the world’s top road circuit racing events for sport motorcycles based on mass-production models available for sale. This racing event is widely considered one of the fastest developing and promising in terms of its popularity among motorcycle racing fans, producers, telecommunications companies, and commercial partners. Currently, the championship’s promoter is Infront Motor Sports, a Rome-based affiliate of Infront Sports & Media. The World Superbike races are held under the aegis of FIM (the International Motorcycling Federation).

Russian motorsports star Vladimir Leonov, who switched to circuit racing from motocross, has a remarkable “feel for the motorcycle,” which helps him remain unparalleled in rain races. He won the bronze medal in the STOCK600 class in the Italian Championship CIV 2011 – Europe’s most exciting national contest. Vladimir is undoubtedly one of the new motorcycle racing stars who is most likely to give a stunning performance at the World Superbike Championship 2012. To name just a few of his impressive achievements, last week Vladimir finished at 1:40:667 on the Misano circuit. Compare that to the result of 1:40:313 by the World Superbike’s Supersport class leader riding a more advanced factory Kawasaki! And his first wildcard performance in Portugal was truly a bolt from the blue: Vladimir finished among the top ten riders from among over 30 veterans of the championship on a track he barely knew, all while riding a Supersport class bike.

Tissot, the Official Timekeeper of the FIM World Superbike Championship, and Yakhnich Motorsport, the official representative of the World Superbike Championship in Russia and the organizer of Russia's first-ever WSB round, have announced an exciting new strategic partnership. In line with the preparations for such an important event (this marks the first round of a major international championship in sports involving technical equipment to be held in Russia), Tissot and Yakhnich Motorsport plan to jointly carry out a number of measures to popularize motorsports in Russia. The first Russian World Superbike round in history will be held on the Moscow Raceway circuit near Moscow on August 26, 2012, and Tissot and Yakhnich Motorsport promise that it will be an unforgettable experience in advanced high-speed motorcycle racing, not to mention a fantastic show in its own right.

Tissot’s popular T-Race watch is precisely the thing to turn a perfect design into the style of a winner. This series boldly accentuates red, yellow and orange, colors which dominate circuit designs. A contemporary and precise watch, these quartz chronographs feature elements inspired by motorcycle races and have everything you need to perfectly match all the latest fashion trends. Tissot’s designers have taken special care to ensure that the ultimate attention to detail is always in pole position. The case for the watch is made to resemble brakes, and follows the requisite trend for stylish pictures and textures in the band. A “T-Race” engraving runs along the case’s sides, with “Tissot” inscribed on the bezel above the central watch winder.

Starting from pole position, Tissot – a brand famous for its versatility in supporting various sporting events – is also masterfully completing all the laps in this race with its new Tissot Racing-Touch model. The ground-breaking design incorporates eleven dynamic functions that are easy for a young and active owner to grasp. The watch blends high technology with a cutting-edge design using durable materials. With the Racing-Touch model, it’s enough for the owner of this watch to simply “be in touch” with the glass chronometer in order to do anything, for instance easily determine his or her best lap time in the race, try his or her hand as a regatta participant, or check whether his or her friends on the other side of the world are already awake.
Tissot Racing-Touch boasts a vast range of usage in various sports and sporting events. The model was designed specifically for adventurous individuals who live for thrilling contests, the winners of which are often determined by photo finish. The model brings together all the different functions typical of a chronograph, a log function which records personal results and data, a dual time zone display, two alarms, and night illuminators. Nautical souls will most certainly be pleased by the tide schedule function complete with a compass. To top it off, the range of colors and materials used in the model matches its diverse functionality in a bid to fully reflect the likes and lifestyle of its owner. The models that are predominantly black and orange, featuring an orange band that can be replaced by an elegant steel one, are considered the most distinctive, while ladies’ models are mostly white.
For Tissot, “being in touch with your time” is so much more than just a tagline. The slogan reflects the brand’s innermost message and its time-tested commitment to the absolute harmony with technological achievements and tastes of the era. Innovative by tradition, Tissot dates back to 1853. Ever since its creation, the company, based in Switzerland’s Le Locle in the Jura Mountains, has successfully combined skill and precision with unforgettable style in its watches, which are now sold in over 160 countries worldwide. Special materials, cutting-edge functionality, and a carefully-crafted design all come together to create a luxury of availability. Part of Swatch Group, the world’s largest producer and distributor of Swiss watches, Tissot is the Official Timekeeper and Partner of MotoGP, FIM Superbike, FIBA, AFL, CBA, as well as cycling, fencing and ice hockey championships.
