Krapukhin chooses Blauer

Sergei Krapukhin, multiple winner of Russian road racing championships, has picked a relatively young helmet producer from Italy, Blauer Helmets, for this season.

Established over 60 years ago in North America, the brand initially focused on the production of apparel and accessories primarily for policemen and military officers. The first civilian fashion collection under the Blauer brand was created in 2001, targeting the latest fashionable trends with its cutting-edge design and features coupled with military quality and reliability. The Italian company FGF Industry s.p.a. acquired a license to produce under the Blauer brand in Europe. The main Blauer collection, called Blauer Hi.Tech., includes not only helmets but also apparel and gear items.

The Blauer Helmets brand is currently controlled by the Italian holding FGF Industry s.p.a., which is headquartered in the city of Montegalda in the Vicenza province.

Sergei Krapukhin is Russia's 2004 Superbike champion, and a four-time winner of national Supersport 600 championships (in 2005, 2006, 2009, 2010 and 2011). He was born and grew up in Moscow. A graduate of the prestigious Bauman Moscow State Technical University, his love of sports nevertheless outweighed other ambitions, leading him to take up professional motorcycle road racing. During the off-season, he enjoys snowboarding and kite-surfing. His plans for the near future include participation in MotoGP in the Moto2 class, and in WSBK in the Supersport class. He is currently number 55 of the RWT-Motorsport team, competing in the Supersport 600 class in Russian championships.

Commenting on his choice, Sergei Krapukhin said: ā€œHello everyone! I am happy to inform all motorsport fans and my fans in particular that after giving it a lot of thought and considering the offers of various motorcycle helmet producers, I decided to go with Blauer Helmets. Their helmets stand out with their conspicuous and unrivaled aggressive design. It is a young company, so they pay close attention to state-of-the-art technology in designing racing helmetsā€¦ā€

Several MotoGP riders have performed in Blauer helmets, specifically Michele Pirro, who represented Gresini Racing in the Moto2 class in 2011. The Blauer collection now features replicas of Pirroā€™s Moto2 helmet. This year, Russia's Sergei Krapukhin, who practiced quite arduously ahead of the new season on European racetracks, also rides in a Blauer helmet.
