Qatar to host second round of Shell Advance Asia Talent Cup

Having travelled directly from Buriram (Thailand), where last weekend the first round of the Cup was held, the 22 riders in the Shell Advance Asia Talent Cup are already in Qatar for the next two races, which will form part of the opening round of the MotoGPв„ў World Championship starting this weekend.

Thai riders Somkiat Chantra and Nakarin Atiratphuvapat arrived in Qatar full of confidence having taken their first wins in the Cup during round one in front of a passionate home crowd, who packed the grandstands at the Chang International Circuit.

Japanese rider Ayumu Sasaki is also in good shape in Qatar, as he heads into the second round leading the Cup standings after finishing second in both races in Buriram, while his compatriot Kabuki Masaki, the leading rookie so far, managed to get a podium in Thailand. Another rider with a podium to his name is the Indonesian Gerry Salim, while others such as Norrodin and Rasol from Malaysia and Japanese rider Kunimine showed just how competitive they be will throughout the season.

Both of the races in Buriram were packed full of excitement and were exhilarating to watch, with up to ten riders battling it out for the race win right up until the final corner.

The 22 riders in the Shell Advance Asia Talent Cup will contest two races in Qatar, each consisting of 14 laps around the 5.38 km Losail International Circuit.
