The Republic of Bashkortostan has been an informal capital of the Russian track motorcycling since the middle of the previous century. In 2000, a sport club named after G. Kadyrov was established in the city, which brought to the world well-known racers such as Nikolai Krasnikov (11 world champion titles) and Dmitry Bulankin (4 European champion titles).
