Supermoto’s fifth round results
The fifth round of the 2008 Supermoto Championship of Russia was held in Firsanovka (Zelenograd) on August 9-10.
The first race turned out to be unsuccessful for championship leader Alexander Ivanyutin due to his tire exploding as he was finishing the race. And as it later became known the spokes of the wheel had also broken. Then Sergei Ivanyutin’s tire exploded and so the two brothers made it to the finish on flat tires. Maxim Averkin came first, followed by Maxim Lebedev and Alexander Latyshev. Alexander and Sergei Ivanyutin ended up fifth and sixth respectively. The second race in the professional category began with a false start, which was definitely a bad sign for Maxim Averkin as he ran into Sergei Ivanyutin from the very beginning of the race. Sergei managed to gain ground whilst Maxim fell behind. In the second race Alexander Ivanyutin had problems with his bike again. This time they had to do with the exhaust system. Maxim Averkin’s tire exploded. As a result, Alexander Ivanyutin managed to finish first, and Averkin never made it to the finish in the second race. Based on the results of the first two races Alexander Ivanyutin is the deserving winner.

An interview with 2008 Supermoto Championship of Russia leader Alexander Ivanyutin
Alexander Ivanyutin, one of Russia’s top motocross riders kindly agreed to answer a few questions.
Alexander Ivanyutin participates in several championships at a time. But he is mainly concerned with representing Russia’s Red Wings team at the Interdem MX Masters, a prestigious European tournament. In any case, Alexander’s victory in the first and third rounds of the 2008 Supermoto Championship of Russia is a great achievement.

Supermoto’s first round results
Moscow hosted the first round of the 2008 Supermoto Championship of Russia. On May 17-18, despite cold and wet weather, motorcyclists arrived at the Grebnoy Canal to demonstrate how they can manage the bike on wet road.
It was pouring with rain almost all the time but it could not stop the experienced Supermoto riders. On the contrary, many of them managed to show even higher level of professionalism than what they would have shown had it been a bright and sunny day.
