Fifth and eighth overall at the MXGP of Argentina for Team HRC
|
11 comment(s)
Team HRC’s Gautier Paulin and Evgeny Bobryshev finished today’s Grand Prix of Argentina in fifth and eighth places overall respectively, but the numbers don’t tell the whole story.
Light drizzle fell at the start of the opening race and for the opening few laps, but did little more than dampen the track. Bobryshev emerged strongly from turn one in third, and despite slipping to eighth at one point the resurgent Russian finished fifth – his best result since the Italian GP in June last year, just before the injury in the second race of that GP that ruled him out for the rest of the season.

Herlings excels at Thailand to take MX2 victory with double race wins
Red Bull KTM Factory Racing welcomed Jeffrey
“The Bulletâ€
Herlings back to the podium with a double race win in the MX2 GP of Thailand on Sunday with two dominant race wins to preserve his four race - two GP victory streak at the end of the second round.
Herlings’ teammate Pauls Jonass of Latvia, who has just moved permanently up to MX2 from the European-level championship, was a very impressive second place overall to indicate that KTM already has an eye on the future and the next generation of GP winners.
Ryan Villopoto wins in Thailand

Ryan Villopoto clinched victory for the Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team in stifling heat at the Nakhonchaisri raceway, which hosted the Thai round of the FIM World MXGP Motocross Championship.
The ten times US champion showed an immediate liking for the man-made track 35 miles west of the Thai capital Bangkok as he won the qualification race by an amazing 33 seconds as the hard work of midweek suspension testing in Europe paid dividends. With temperatures soaring above 100 degrees Fahrenheit RV2 was content to control the first GP moto by a smaller margin on race day, but was never seriously challenged after sweeping past teammate Tyla Rattray for the lead before turn three. After being forced off the track through the early turns of race two Ryan needed three laps to advance to third place, at which stage the leader already held a five second advantage. The leading trio matched each other's pace for several laps before the Kawasaki leader, secure in the knowledge that his placing would give him the overall success on the day, took no risks to secure the honour. He has also moved up the championship table to fourth, just 18 points shy of the series pacesetter.
Ryan's teammate Tyla Rattray reinforced the power of the KX450F-SR and the commitment of the entire Kawasaki Racing Team when he grabbed the Holeshot award in the first moto and the South African maintained his leaderboard ranking all race to finish eighth. After another strong start in race two, Tyla again finished eighth and has now moved to eleventh in the series standings after two events of the 18 round series. The series continues with round three at Neuquen in Argentina on March 28/29.
A day of recovery rides for Team HRC in Thailand
|
3 comment(s)
It was a day of mixed emotions for Team HRC in Thailand today as the true performances of Gautier Paulin and Evgeny Bobryshev were hampered by crashes that meant the pairing had to fight their way through the field in both races.
The races today were run in very tough conditions as the temperature reached 38 degrees Celsius, leading the organisers to cut the second race duration by five minutes.

Team HRC look to continue podium run in Thailand
|
9 comment(s)
Just days after Gautier Paulin and Team HRC finished third in the MXGP of Qatar, Thailand beckons for round two of the FIM Motocross World Championship.
Held on 7-8 March at the Nakhonchaisri Motorsport Complex one hour north-west of Bangkok, the Thailand Circuit track is new on the calendar for this season and as such presents an unknown challenge for the field.
