It’s great to know that our countrymen are not only among MotoGP pilots, but in NATO as well. Dmitry Rogozin, a politician with a creative approach that is made quite clear in his active “online” life, has shared his impressions and positive lifestyle with Motonews.ru correspondents, and also expanded on the dream of his life, i.e. a huge passion for motorbikes.
Born on December 21, 1963 in Moscow, Dmitry Rogozin is a Russian politician and statesman, diplomat, and Russia’s ambassador to NATO since January 9, 2008. He speaks perfect English, Spanish, Italian and French. As if that were not impressive enough, Mr Rogozin also has a PhD in Philosophy. He is married with a son and two grandchildren.
The Rally London to Tbilisi is an annual charity sporting event established and co-chaired by Levan Vasadze and Lord Gillford, sponsoring the following charities Saphekhurebi, The Shooting Star Children’s Hospice, and SOS Kazakhstan Children’s Orphanage. Its central goal is to help the charities in their work and to provide rally riders with a unique travel experience.
The rally encompasses a demanding and an adventurous journey across Europe traditionally ending on its edge in Tbilisi at Bagrationi 1882, a beautiful sparkling wine factory in Tbilisi, with a big reception and celebration, with the riders, loved ones flying in to see the riders finish and joining them on a romantic evening in Tbilisi. This year however, the rally is going further onwards from Tbilisi to Astana, adding a second stage. If the experiment is successful, the rally may continue in following years to add various second stages to the traditional London to Tbilisi 11-12 day route.
The new motorbike season-2009 is almost here (there is a countdown timer at the top of the web page to remind you exactly how much time is left before the new motorbike season kicks off). Motonews.ru is happy to provide you with a program of upcoming events, as well as to highlight certain things that should never be forgotten.
Just like last year, no centralized event to mark the beginning of the motorbike season will be held. Instead, all motorbike and scooter clubs will celebrate on their own. Not many of these events have been announced so far, most likely because of the crisis taking its toll on all spheres of economic and public life.
This Saturday, April 4, the Outlaws MC Russia club will celebrate in the Alcatraz Bike Music Club (Andropov Prospekt, Moscow). The program will include a concert (Easy/Dizzy, Runaways, Dizzy), a striptease and contests. The entrance fee is RUB 500.
Last weekend, on December 13, 2008 Motonews.ru was celebrating at the New Year 2009 party in Moscow.
The Moscow motorbike club Wolf Brothers MC organized the get-together for its friends in the B1 club. It was a great chance for everybody to celebrate the upcoming New Year together, which brought us all closer to the new motorbike season 2009.
The program included a concert featuring such artists as A’Studio, Neschastny Sluchay, Celebrity, Kruiz, and Big Fat Choppers music, as well as performances by Vladimir Vinokur, Efim Shifrin, Lion Izmailov, not to mention a laser show, sky acrobatics and a lottery.

Motonews.ru is glad to announce an unforgettable close to the motorbike season in Moscow last weekend. The event was traditionally arranged by the Nochniye Volki (Night Wolves Russia) and Wolf Brothers (previously known as Star Riders) motoclubs.
The celebrations kicked off on October 4th at the Tushino airfield and finished in the Moscow international bike center the next day. As testament to the show’s success, more than 3,000 enthusiastic guests attended the events.
The first day included a performance by the Meteor children’s rhythmic gymnastics school, a multi-stage contest (exhibition, motorbike selection, aerography, custom, Russian bike, the best motorbike tuning, the best tricycle, the best motorbike sound), performances by legendary music groups of the 1980s, the Miss Motorbike Season Closing beauty contest, and a huge concert (featuring Dobry Molodtsy, Shpilki, Kamikadze Show, B.F.C., Zemlyane, Moral Codex). At 11:00 p.m., the celebrations were wrapped up with fireworks and a lottery, giving away a motorbike to one lucky man and a maxi-scooter to one lucky woman. After midnight everybody moved to the Moscow international bike center.
The third annual ‘Musik Bike Ukraine’ festival took place in Uzhgorod (Ukraine) on July 10-13. It was attended by more than 2,000 people, including 580 bikers from Ukraine, Hungary, Russia, Poland, Slovakia, Moldova, Germany, Sweden and other countries. The participants drank 9,500 liters of beer and ate 2,100 kilograms of ‘shashlyk’ during these days.
The festival was supported by the Uzhgorod City Administration. Traditionally, Alexander Sukhanov (nickname Shonya), a member of the ‘Padonki Mira’ motorcycling club was the main organizer of the event. The main sponsors were Internet portals BikersPublic.com and Motonews.ru, a company Tvin, the Ukrainian magazines Bike and Motodrive, an Uzhgorod night club called Viper and Obolon beer. Nonetheless, Padonki Mira was the main driving force behind the festival. Alexei Sidorchik (nickname Ritualshchik) from Moscow and Rodion Radik from Uzhgorod were the masters of ceremonies for all three days.
